In case you missed it, here's Freddy's write up of the Acton tournament, alongside one of many pictures from the day. Click on the image to view the rest of them. Over to you Fred...
"Where do I start? First of all big thanks to everyone that made it down and played 5 or 6 games! Either way it was a huge effort. I also want to thank Monster Drinks for my irregular heartbeat which will not go away.
The story is much the same for the Men's and Women's team. We made it down there and had no trouble getting warm with a 2 mile hike to the pitch. Old Gold had the Vip section at the fields roped off for foreign Dignitaries and Heads of State like Rhino. Oh well, we went down there to play and before long that's what we did. 26-0 Portland over Old Gold.
We then drew the Wolfhounds(what a surprise) after a spirited comeback we fell short but not before gaining the respect of 10 Thompson Gazelles. We were slightly disappointed but after seeing those guys dismantle everyone in there path the rest of the day we will just take the hat's off to a great team. Time to be seeded and plan the rest of our day. We were the # 1 seed in the 2nd division and as it turns out we were a hare away from making the 1st division. We then went on to shut out Boston B's, and Seacoast.
The final was a strange affair with total darkness & lightning. Looked like a scene from The Natural. We ended regulation in a tie and rather than go to kicks we played sudden death and fell short of our expectations. We may have lost tha't one but 20 or so teams were watching and that's how we like it.
The Women's team came out strong and spanked Worcester. They then drew Beantown and though they lost were also confident going into the Metal round. Win after win they were stacking tries and opponents were wincing in pain. Big Hits all day and though they also lost the final it wasn't by much and you will all see that they are going to be around for good!
I don't know about everyone else but my 30 +++ ass is taking the night off due to complications. We will resume practice this Thursday at Payson Park. Fox st Practice will start soon.
Cheers,
Fred"
Nice write up Fred, but who are the Thompson's Gazelles?

Barely Legal
Jimmy Hendricks sent me a link to this barely legal video. In fact, most of what you'll see isn't legal at all. He claims a friend sent it to him, but well....you all know what that means. It's OK Jimmy, we all look at stuff like this from time to time. It's nothing to be ashamed of. Of course, most of us also know that if we try anything like this ourselves, we're going to give up a penalty if we're lucky, or more likely watch the rest of the game from the sidelines.

Summer Training
A regular training schedule has been established, with voluntary Sevens on Tuesdays at Payson Park, and regular training at Fox Street on Thursdays. Both start at 6pm so make sure you are there a little early if you need time to socialize, get changed, make some phone calls etc.
